1 - Ribeira/Cais de Gaia
Unesco's world heritage site, this is a must see if you go to Porto.
You can walk all the way down there, or simply use the cable railway, "funicular dos Guindais" near Sao Bento station.
After you see the Ribeira you can cross the marvelous D. Luis bridge, which was design by Eiffel, and cross the river to the opposite bank, Cais de Gaia.
There you can visit the Porto wine caves, and then use the cable car up to the Jardim do Morro, which has wonderful views for the city.
2 - Torre dos Clérigos (Clérigos Tower)/ Lello
This tower is one of the tallest and more iconic building of the city.
You can climb the tower, or simply admire it. After, you can visit the modern Clérigos square, cross it and visit the Lello library, one of the most beautiful libraries in the world.
3 - Palácio da Bolsa (Stock Exchange Palace)
Inspired by the Neopalladian style, it holds the most beautiful interiors that you can visit in the city.
Truly a must see!
4 - Aliados/Santa Catarina
Aliados is the center of the city, there you can see the city hall and admire the
Beaux Arts architecture. After you can go east to Santa Catarina street which is the shopping heart of the city.
5 - Palácio de Cristal/Jardim Botânico (Botanic Garden)
One amazing garden with amazing sights to the river. There you can meet the famous peacocks that live freely in the gardens. And if you are looking to a more quiet place, you can go to the not so far botanic garden, a must visit if you like nature or if you want to have a quiet and romantic place to walk. Entrance free.
6 - Casa da Música/Boavista
Casa da musica is one so the most iconic buildings in the city, it's a work of art from the famous Rem Koolhaas, you need to see it if you like architecture or music. There are some tours and available and you can also check the agenda if you want to see a show.
Near you have the Boavista area, you can also check the local commerce and visit the Bom Sucesso gourmet market.
7 - Serralves
The cultural corner stone of the city, there you can enjoy contemporary art exhibitions and visit the beautiful gardens.
8 - Foz do Douro/ Castelo do Queijo
If you get good weather this is a must visit. You can walk alongside the Foz and feel the breeze of the Atlantic Ocean. North you can find the Castelo do Queijo, an old fortress by the sea.
9 - Matosinhos/ Parque da Cidade (city park)
If you visit the Castelo do Queijo, there you can walk north a bit further and visit the Matosinhos beach and/or take a walk to the city park, the largest in Portugal.
10 - Estádio do Dragão (Dragon Stadium)
A must see place if you like football. Home of the iconic Futebol Clube do Porto, it's a beautiful architecture work of art to see, also there are a museum if you want to learn more about the conquers and history of the club.
